I’m Meredith Walker, founder and CEO of Fortifying Roots. I help organizations get their systems working and their people ready, then hand it back to a stronger team.
My story
How I learned to carry a lot, and carry it well.
At 23, I became my mom’s full-time caregiver after an autoimmune disease left her quadriplegic. She went on to paint and act on stage. I kept building a career in technology, went back to college full-time at 26, and grew my marriage along the way.
The secret was systems: making my time assignable so the important things always had a place. That instinct carried me through 20+ years leading technology and operations, including as IT Director at Magnolia, and I’ve since stepped in as a fractional IT and procurement executive.
In 2023 I founded Fortifying Roots to help other organizations build strong systems, equip the people who run them, and move forward with confidence.
